Although ostensibly a recent recruit to the fold, the enigmatic figure known as Colonel Boran has in fact been a close associate of TGQ since the early club days.

Working along similar lines in various different bands (The Hurricanes, Thulsa Doom, Basskommander) the pseudonymous multi-instrumentalist also made appearances on numerous TGQ recordings dating back to 1964’s WE LIVE BY NIGHT.

Throughout the intervening years “The Colonel” has been credited on such diverse instruments as: gong, guitar, Buchla Music Box, ARP Omni, pan flute, drums and tubular bells — under such aliases as: Borangus, Borangutan, Borankenstein and Borangus Young.

A shadowy personality, Boran seems intent on shunning the limelight — although it is rumored that he leads a double life as a German race car driver of some repute.

As self-appointed curator of “The Void Vault” — The Get Quick’s bank of unreleased studio recordings — the Col. is the chief compiler the popular TGQ collections AMERICA’S FAVORITE JINGLES & THEME SONGS, mainly culled from said legendary catalogue.
