The Slip Hounds were a psychedelic rock band that formed in New York City in the mid 1960s. They were one of the first bands to fuse rock and experimental electronic music. Only a meager handful of contemporary acts shared their vision (mostly West Coast groups for some reason — notably the United States of America and Fifty Foot Hose). The aim of the ’Hounds was to integrate cutting-edge electromechanical technology and avant-garde compositional concepts with the propulsive sound of contemporary rock music.
